Safwan has more than 20 years' experience working in the Corporate and Investment Funds departments at leading international law firms (Corrs, Freehills, and Allen & Overy) and as General Counsel at a leading investment firm (Waha Capital).
Safwan advises many Middle Eastern and Australian entrepreneurs, investment funds, commercial and investment banks, institutional investors, public and private companies, governments, SME's and family offices in a range of sectors, including healthcare and life sciences, information technology, financial services, investment management, real estate, and energy and infrastructure.
Safwan worked in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh for over a decade and has an intimate knowledge of doing business in the Middle East and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region in particular.
In his spare time, Safwan enjoys travel and travel planning, playing squash, spending time with his four daughters (and Lola, their much-loved chocolate spoodle), and supporting Essendon and Liverpool football clubs.
